Montana jobless rate falls to 3.7 percent

HELENA – Montana’s unemployment rate fell to 3.7 percent in July, marking the third straight month the state’s jobless rate has dropped.

State labor department statistics show that payroll employment posted a gain of 900 jobs in July, for a total of 3,400 jobs added in the last three months.

The lowest jobless rate in July was at 1.6 percent in Daniels County while Big Horn County had the highest unemployment rate at 8.9 percent.

The Consumer Price Index increased by 0.2 percent in July, with most of the increase coming from an increase in home prices. -0.5 percent)

The US unemployment rate stood at 3.9 percent in July.
