Billings teen facing five charges of rape

BILLINGS- A Billings teenager has been charged with five counts of sexual intercourse without consent, Yellowstone County Prosecutor Scott Twito said Friday evening.

Twito confirmed 17-year-old Brayden Pond is facing those charges.

Pond played running back for Billings Skyview’s football team two years ago. In May, he was listed on MaxPrepSports.com as a member of Billings Senior’s football team, but he was no longer on that roster for Senior’s game against Glacier High School.

A call made by Q2 to the Yellowstone County Detention Center Friday evening confirmed that Pond was not listed as an inmate in the facility.

Twito told Q2 he has limited details to release on the case as he took a call after business hours, but Twito did say an arrangement is set for Wednesday, Sept. 5.

Due to Pond’s age, there could be a transfer hearing in the case. That hearing is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 13 in Yellowstone County.

No other details about the charges against Pond were immediately available.
