BILLINGS — Billings Catholic Schools will follow Governor Bullocks directive to close all public schools for two weeks. BCS President Shaun Harrington released the following information for parents and students:
The recent announcement from the Governor’s office has indicated that all schools in Montana will be closed for 2 weeks. We will evaluate any closures beyond two weeks based on incoming information. Here is the response from Billings Catholic Schools:
For all students:
- Tomorrow is a PIR Day for all K-12 teachers. Students will not be expected to do any work remotely tomorrow, Monday, March 16th.
- Teachers will use tomorrow as a PIR day to finalize preparing materials and on-line learning.
- Starting Tuesday, March 17th, we will begin a new format for remote teaching. This will vary by grade level and specific instructions will be sent by the schools.
- All activities are postponed until further notice (indoor and outdoor).
St. Francis School (K-8)
- Students and parents can come to the building Monday, March 16th between 1:00 pm- 5:00pm to pick up the materials for instruction and iPads if appropriate.
- All extracurricular activities are cancelled.
Billings Central Catholic High School
- Students and/or parents may come to building, Monday, March 16th, between 8:00 am – 2:00 pm to pick up your iPad, textbooks, or other materials.
- All extracurricular activities are postponed until further notice.
- We will determine how to address the scheduled ACT testing and communicate to students and parents as soon as possible.
Pre-K and Day Care
- A separate correspondence will be sent to daycare and preschool parents.
Social Distancing
- As a reminder, social distancing is a key recommendation from professionals
- Although school is cancelled, the best precautions are:
- No playdates or group gatherings
- Limit public places with groups (movie theaters, recreational sites)
- Limit public contact
