A woman fights off man who attempts to kidnap her son

    LINCOLN, NE (KPTM) — Lincoln police investigate an attempted kidnapping of 2-year-old near Yellow Knife Drive near 80th Street in Lincoln.

The Lincoln Police Department says Wednesday night, a 36-year-old woman told police she was walking near her home, pushing her 2-year-old son in a stroller when a man in an older Jeep-style SUV pulled up next to her and stopped.

The woman told police the man got out of the car and tried to remove her son from the stroller, by pulling his leg. The woman said she believed the man tried to kidnap her son.

The woman told police she fought with him, bear-hug tackled and kicked the man.

The woman told police she was thrown into a light pole but wasn’t hurt during her fight with the man.

The woman told police the man got into his car and left.

The woman described the man as white, in his 40-to-50s, 6 feet and 1 inch tall, 250 pounds, with brown eyes, brown hair, a receding hairline, and a thin, pointy nose.
