HAMILTON – This month’s A Waiting Child is 16-year-old Tristin of Hamilton who loves working on old cars and welding.
“My favorite subject in school is welding. I’m a very hands-on person, so I like to, you know, work with stuff with my hands…from welding to working on cars to building,” the high school sophomore said.
Linda Massa Youth Home Program Director Anna Green says she has learned a lot about Tristin. She described him as an independent and respectful kid with a kind heart.
“What do I feel would be most important in a family like environment? I feel like that would be just the fact of fitting in,” Tristin said.
He spends most of his time with his friends and says one of the most important things to him is learning about other people.
“If we didn’t have relationships who would we be? We wouldn’t be anybody,” Tristin said. “But if we have those relationships we are able to understand what goes on and how to live life.”
Tristin told MTN News that he also enjoys motocross as well as track and field.
