It was 7-0 after the first inning…and I immediately told my grandma to turn off the radio.
I was 6 at that time, and she politely said, “I don’t turn the games off until they’re over.”
Three hours later, she screams to me through the Northwoods of Wisconsin, and all I hear is my childhood role model Bob Uecker yelling “get up, get up, get out of here, gone.”
The Milwaukee Brewers won 10-9 on a walk-off homer, and from that moment on, I was hooked.
I started my career at ESPN Radio in Milwaukee.
It was there I got to cover countless Brewers, Bucks and Packers games and it was a career I never thought I’d leave.
Then I met my lovely wife Megan, who had family in Montana.
I told her from day one, there was no way I’m moving to Montana. Well, four years after meeting her, we hopped in the car to begin our lives in, you guessed it, Billings, Montana.
I’ve never looked back and I have grown to love the small-town feel and the friendly people of the Magic City.
When arriving, I wrote hand-written letters to every media outlet in the city, just looking for a chance.
Q2 called, and I soon became an integral part of the sports department, telling stories of Billings' best athletes and shooting highlights.
I then started to become more involved in the day-to-day news operations.
From there, my love for news and telling stories that affect viewers quickly grew stronger.
I transitioned out of sports and into weekend news director before ultimately becoming the Producer for the 5:30 and 10:00 News.
Many call me utility player- being able to do just about every job well- and it’s a role I take great pride in.
I know I said I’d never come to Montana…well I’m here now, I love it and it truly has become home!
