ANACONDA — UPDATE: Montana Highway Patrol says the driver of the semi was the sole occupant and was not injured.

The driver was headed home to Spokane, Washington, MHP said, when he noticed smoke. He pulled over and called for help as the flames began to overtake the cab of the semi, which was a total loss.

A semi-truck cab was fully engulfed in flames on Interstate 90 westbound outside of Anaconda Sunday morning.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol incident map, MHP was dispatched to mile marker 210 on I90 West, east of Anaconda, around 10:40 a.m. Sunday.

The Montana Department of Transportation reported that traffic was down to a single lane with reduced speeds. Drivers in the area should use caution as emergency responders work the scene.

It is not yet confirmed if there are injuries. We will update this story as we learn more.
