It was a cool and crisp morning in Bridgeport, Connecticut, when Robert J. McGuire was born to Peg and Tom McGuire. The leaves had just begun to change; it was October 8, 1954. Young Robert lived in Connecticut, for about a year and then moved to Charlottesville, Virginia with his parents. The only thing young Robert remembers from that time is the day a snake slithered into the back yard and his mother chopped it to small pieces with a hoe.

The year was 1956, Robert was 2 years old. In 1958 the McGuire’s moved to the greater Chicago area. They moved to 1380 Yale Avenue in Arlington Heights. 1958 was also the year, now 4 year old; Robert got to go to Comiskey Park, Home of the Chicago White Sox. His mother pleaded with his father not to take young Robert to Downtown Chicago. Robert’s father replied "don’t worry he’ll be fine". Robert was hit by a 1958 Buick, outside the ballpark. Robert has been a Cub fan since. His father never lived it down. After that young Robert’s life settled down and was somewhat unremarkable.

In 1959, the McGuire’s moved again to Schaumburg Illinois, Some 30 miles from Downtown Chicago. Welcome to suburbia. In 1960 Robert starts first grade at Francis Campanelli grade school. He works his way through 5th grade. He spends sixth grade at Schaumburg Grade School and then goes to Robert Frost Junior High for 7th and 8th grade.

During Robert’s junior year a new high school is built in Schaumburg, Illinois. It’s about a ¾ of a mile from Robert’s house. School District 211 transfers Robert to the new high school. There are no seniors, only juniors at the new school. So Robert’s class, the class of 1972, rules the school for two year s. After Graduation Young Robert attends East Central State College in Ada Oklahoma and lands his first job. He is an engraver at J. Kent Smith Jewelers at Broadway and Main in Ada. Robert accepts and transfer college from East Central to Cameron University. Robert is now the night time rocker at KSWO-AM. He finishes College at Cameron. After college Robert gets a chance to go home and work for his Uncle at Canteen Corp. It’s a Vending firm, Robert works there for about a year but Radio is in his blood now and he moves back to Lawton Oklahoma. Back in Oklahoma Robert works for several radio stations in Lawton. Stations like KSWO-AM, KRLG-FM and KMGZ Magic 95.
