Belgrade schools closed Friday for threat

Posted

BELGRADE – All schools in Belgrade will be closed Friday because of what school officials are calling a "credible threat."

The district posted a notice on its website from Superintendent Leland Stocker that it’s continuing to investigate and will "be in communication."

The Belgrade News is reporting that police are investigating the incident, but Police Chief E.J. Clark is uncertain if the threat is credible.

Clark told the Belgrade News that Stocker and Belgrade School Board Chairman Lance Voegele decided to close the schools.

This is a developing story.
