Heads up: The snow is not done yet.
Thursday is really shaping up to be a wet day. A fairly dynamic system will push a fair amount of moisture to the area, likely resulting in an inch or more of precipitation east of Billings.
There will be rain switching to snow. The mountains could get 4 to 8 inches of new accumulation.
However, the timing and details are still being fine tuned. Watch for updates on when this system will arrive, leave, and how much rain and snow it will leave inbetween.
In the short term, expect a mild and dry Tuesday. Highs will be in the 50s to low 60s with increasing afternoon clouds.
Scattered showers will spread from west to east across the area this evening. Low will drop to the upper 20s to mid 30s.
Wednesday will trend a little cooler with most of the high temperatures in the 50s. It will be a little windier.
By Wednesday evening, our focus will change to the incoming rain and snow.
