MSUB City College is home to the only collision repair school in the state.
Now the program has the opportunity to step into the modern age.
The Montana Collision Repair Association made the presentation at its annual convention at the Montana Convention Center on Saturday.
The program received $17,500 for an endowment fund to go toward scholarships for future students, along with $72,000 worth of equipment
Part of that money was raised from an auction, where toy pedal cars that were painted by students in the program were auctioned off yesterday.
"It is huge for the school moving forward because they not only operate on such a limited budget,” said Todd Litton, the organization’s vice president. “But to get the modern equipment that is necessary for the kids to learn the proper techniques for repairing these high tech cars today. It’s really huge because it would take years and years worth of grants to get the equipment that we are able to give them right away."
Some of the equipment donated includes: welders, aluminum frame pullers, and scanners.
