BILLINGS – More security measures will be in place at the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) competition at the Rimrock Auto Arena this weekend.
MetraPark put out a list of items not allowed in the arena on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Management provided its maximum security at the arena for the Foo Fighters concert in December.
The PBR security will include metal detecting scanners at all entrances, but not additional sheriff’s deputies or bomb-sniffing dogs.
"This is a heavier level of security for us at PBR than we’ve had in the past,” said Ray Massie, marketing director for MetraPark. “They’ve been looking at this at venues across the country. Some venues even more secure in terms of what they ask to be done than what we’re doing here. Anything we can do at Rimrock Auto Arena to keep people safe, that’s what we’re going to want to suggest to our promoters that they do."
Massie said doors will open 90 minutes ahead of the start time.
He recommends not bringing any of the prohibited items because that will cause delays.
Some of the items not allowed in the arena include weapon, knives, cans, bottles, video cameras, pepper spray and backpacks and any bags bigger than 12-inches-by-12 -inches.
A complete list of prohibited items is available on the MetraPark website.
