BILLINGS – Girl Scouts in Billings are looking to fulfill the dream of a scout sister who didn’t live long enough to finish it herself.
Girl Scout Troop 2435 is aiming to sell 3,000 cookies, the goal set by Chloe Lai, a St. Francis fourth-grader who died in February from influenza.
The troop will be at all four MasterLube locations in Billings from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday helping Chloe’s parents.
"With the outpouring that we’ve already got, I am so blown away,” said troop leader Tami Degele. “My co-leader, Elizabeth and I just look at each other and we get tears in our eyes because we live in such an amazing place. Just very proud to be part of it. And i don’t know what to expect tomorrow but it’s going to be good."
Degele said the idea came from Chloe’s dad. Hoi Lai, who wants to achieve one of his daughter’s goals.
Troop 235 has invited Girls Scouts from the other troops in Billings to help sell cookies.
