Q2 Weather: Beautiful Saturday afternoon

Posted

We have a beautiful, sunny Saturday afternoon in store for basically all of our region. Temperatures here in Billings are expected to warm up to the low 70’s.

Conditions will be temperate and pleasant until the later portions of the evening when a front will pass through the region.

This front is associated with a system that is currently passing through southern Alberta and Saskatchewan. This system is currently producing very high winds in the northwestern portion of the state.

There are wind warnings in place for many of the northwestern counties and gusts could touch the 80 mile an hour mark coming off the Rockies.

As the system pushes east it also moves north, meaning that the conditions it will bring to our area are much less severe. There is the chance for some gusty winds out of the north in the later portion of the evening, wind speeds in the 15-25 mile an hour range are possible.

This system is also quite dry, so even though we often associate cold fronts with moisture there is no rain in the forecast tonight.

The air on the other side of the front is cooler than the very warm air we will see this afternoon but it is by no means cold. Sunday will still be a seasonal day with temperatures in the lower 60’s.

Enjoy the weekend!
