Gas prices also have a lot to do with the day of the week.
A new Gasbuddy study indicates that Monday offers the lowest average gas price in 21 states, making it the best day to fill up.
On the other hand, Friday is the worst day to buy gas in 19 states, because the average price is highest.
As of this week, the average pump price for regular gasoline here in Billings is $2.66/gallon. The lowest pump price – $2.52 at Costco.
Compare that to the national average of $2.81/gallon, which is up more than 15 cents over the past month.
Prices are now 42 cents higher than they were one year ago.
