Thousands of butterflies were spotted clustering at a creek in southwest China’s Sichuan Province recently, creating a rare scene
Near the creek at the bottom of the Butterfly Valley is a scenic spot called the Shibayue pool where a swarm of butterflies clustered on flowers. Some drifted around at the valley bottom.
The Shibayue pool is a well-protected scenic spot in Guangwushan – Nuoshuihe National GeoPark, with lush vegetation.
The butterflies gathered in large swarms when hot weather forced them to drink from the creek and to enjoy the cool air at the valley bottom, which was damp and relatively cool.
