GREAT FALLS- Search crews fished a man out of the Missouri River in Great Falls Friday evening and were unable to resuscitate him, Cascade County Sheriff Bob Edwards said.
Searchers were called to the area near the Ninth Street Bridge around 4:55 p.m. following several reports of a body in the river.
Emergency personnel performed CPR at the scene and Benefis Health System, but the man did not survive, Edwards said. He did not appear to have been in the river that long, the sheriff said.
The man appeared to have been on a thin plastic type of raft that appeared to be designed for a pool, Edwards said.
Identification will likely happen Saturday.
