Storms with large hail and damaging winds are possible Thursday evening.
Thunderstorms Thursday afternoon and evening will be very hit-and-miss. But a few storms across the area could produce severe conditions. Hail and wind are the biggest threats, but pockets of heavy rain are also possible with frequent lightning.
Watch for changing conditions, and take save cover if storms approach.
Temperatures will be a little cooler from Billings to the West Thursday, with highs mainly in the 70s. Highs in the low 80s are still possible across the Eastern quarter of Montana.
Behind Thursday nights thunderstorms, Friday will cool mainly to the 60s, with some low 70s in the Eastern plains.
Humidity levels will remain high for this time of the year, giving fuel for more scattered showers and thunderstorms. However, the potential for strong to severe storms is much lower Friday.
Drier and warmer conditions will return for the weekend.
