HARDIN – A 5-year-old girl was killed Friday afternoon on the Interstate 90 Frontage Road about four miles southeast of Hardin when a vehicle struck a horse, according to Montana Highway Patrol.
Trooper Joshua French said the Bureau of Indian Affairs initially responded to the call and handed it over to the highway patrol.
French added that he had few details, including whether the girl was in the car or on the horse, where she’s from or whether authorities are investigating citations.
The call was made just before 1 p.m.
The death marks the 75th on Montana roads this year and 10 so far in July.
This is a developing story.
