BILLINGS – Billings fire crews extinguished a fire in a large methane holding tank early Tuesday morning.
Fire crews were called to the city’s wastewater treatment plant off Highway 87 at about 1:30 a.m.
Portions of Main Street and Bench Boulevard were closed as a precaution while authorities assessed the fire.
The fire was extinguished and the roads reopened shortly after 4 a.m.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire and any damages were not immediately available.
