WATFORD CITY, N.D.- The National Weather Service in Bismarck has confirmed an EF-2 tornado with winds of around 127 mph touched down in Watford City a little before 1 a.m. Tuesday.

The tornado was embedded in thunderstorms which were packing winds of around 75 mph.

More than two dozen people were injured, several severely, when a severe storm ripped through a trailer park just south of Watford City early Tuesday.

Officials say ten people are in critical condition as a result of injuries suffered in the storm, including one considered to be extremely critical.

They were hurt when the storm twisted through Prairie View Park, just one mile south of Watford City along Highway 85.

A shelter was set up at the Civic Center – and many people showed up with tales of a brush with a very dangerous storm.
