We take a run at record high temperatures Friday and Saturday. It is still hot Sunday.
Billings would have to make 102 degrees at the airport Friday afternoon to tie the August 10 record high. There is a pretty good chance the 100 degree August 11 record falls Saturday.
Livingston is on track to break the 98 degree August 10 record high Friday afternoon, and will be close to the 100-degree record Saturday.
Miles City would have to make it to 104 Friday and 107 Saturday to tie the records. Sheridan, Wyoming could approach the record of 104 Saturday afternoon.
Be careful to avoid heat related illness. Stay out of direct sun; stay hydrated; and avoid strenuous activity in hot areas for the next few days.
A cold front moves through late Saturday through Sunday morning. Highs will still be in the 90s Sunday afternoon.
The front will bring periods of wind and the threat of mainly dry lightning storms. Fire risk is greatly increased.
Billings forecast:
