Q2 Weather: Sudden changes today

After record-setting heat from the weekend, Monday and Tuesday are much cooler, smoky, and breezy. Plus isolated showers and thunderstorms will develop areas

Cooler Northeast winds of already moved across the area, and high temperatures today will drop from triple digits to the mid-70s to mid 80s Monday. Expect upper 70s to mid 80s on Tuesday.

Periods of showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible both late Monday and Tuesday during the afternoon and evening.

A Northeast wind will be a bit breezy at times Monday. Expect a mix of clouds and sunshine both Monday and Tuesday.

Areas of Southeast Montana may see damaging wind gusts and large hail Tuesday afternoon and evening.

High temperatures will warm back up to the low 90s on Wednesday Thursday and likely Friday as well. But won’t reach anywhere near the record heat from this past weekend.

Billings forecast:

Monday… Mostly to partly sunny with a high near 81. West winds 10 to 20 mph. Areas of smoke

Monday night… Isolated late afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms.. More smoke. Otherwise partly cloudy with a low around 58.

Tuesday… Mostly sunny early with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and early evening. About 82 for the high.
