GARRYOWEN – A 22-year-old Garryowen woman died from injuries she suffered in a crash Monday morning.

The woman was driving south on Highway 451 between Garryowen and Lodge Grass just before 6 a.m. when her Nissan Xterra drifted off the right side of the road.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, she overcorrected, causing the vehicle to overturn.

The woman was ejected and the vehicle came to rest on its tires.

Investigators said speed was a factor, and the woman was not wearing a seatbelt.

The woman was transported to the Indian Health Service hospital in Crow Agency for life-threatening injuries.

She was pronounced dead several hours later.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and she was the only person in the vehicle.

The Big Horn County Coroner’s office has not released her name.
