Santa’s work shop opened in downtown Billings, with a chance for kids to work alongside the elves in getting ready for Christmas.

Share, Create, Reuse and Promote (SCRaP) is putting on the workshops as part of the Polar Express at the Billings Depot.

Children can make Christmas ornaments and other crafts and families can buy some of the art made by the elves.

Cookies, face painting and letters to Santa are also part of the festivities.

“Writing a thank you letter to Santa instead of asking for it,” said Tammy Zemliska, executive director of SCRaP.”We thought maybe Santa needs to be thanked also. We just hope everybody has a great Christmas and comes down and enjoys some of the things we have put out to help them make their holiday special.”

SCRaP’s Santa’s Workshop schedule is on its website.
