BILLINGS –Three staples of downtown Billings will close their doors Saturday night.

Guido’s, Pug Mahon’s, and the Bookie Casino, which are all housed in the same building on First Avenue North and North 30th Street, will close at the end of the weekend.

Alyssa Landsverk, who owns Guido’s, confirmed the news to Q2 on Tuesday.

“Just shock,” said Landsverk. “There is so much involved, so many people’s lives. There is a crew of waitresses over at Pug’s who have been there 25, 30 years.”

Landsverk said the building was owned by Bill MacIntyre, who died over the weekend.  She said MacIntyre owned both Pug Mahon’s and the Bookie, he also owned Guido’s before letting her take over last year.

“He was a wonderful man,” Landsverk said. “He took me in…basically off the streets not knowing me from Adam and gave me, then last year, everything in here and said that he just wanted to see me successful.”

Landsverk said the three businesses all received notice Monday night that the building would be closing, and doors would be locked Saturday night.  She said no other information was given on why.

“I know that towards the end the last year or so he was looking at his options as far as selling,” said Landsverk. “I just think it all happened a little bit faster than anybody was ready for.”

She said they are currently exploring their options, and looking for a new place to re-open their business.

Q2 News has reached out to the MacIntyre family, who owns other restaurant businesses in the Billings area for comment, but have not heard back.
