A long time favorite in downtown Billings closed, Pug Mahon’s Irish Pub, which was originally expected to close its doors Saturday night.

So those expecting to have just one last cheers to say goodbye to are no longer able.

There was no answer on Pug Mahon’s phone since this morning.

Q2 learned Saturday afternoon that it is closed.

Family and employees are having a private gathering at the 3011 1st Avenue North.

They wanted to be left alone as they are mourning the death of Bill McIntyre, who owned Pug Mahon’s, and dealing with emotions of the end of the business.

The front doors are locked.

It is the last day for two other businesses in the building.

Guido’s 1st Avenue Pizza was open late Saturday afternoon and there were hugs and good-byes there too.

Those in The Bookie also shared hugs, tears and goodbyes.

As reported earlier this week, the building for Pug Mahon’s, Guido’s and the Bookie will be sold.

The owner of Guido’s does not know her business’s future, but indicated she wants to continue at another location.
