The average age children first get introduced to pornography is 11, according to Family Safe Media.

Josh McDowell who is part of the Cru ministry spoke about pornography at a Big Sky Worldview Forum presentation at the Big Horn Resort.

He said billions of pages of pornography are one click away.

McDowell said it may take a few years to get over an addiction to pornography.

He said some of the early steps to overcome an addiction are to acknowledge the problem, get a group of supporters and make the decision to stop.

“I found one thing that everyone has made it out, they made a decisive decision, I’m not going to watch it period,”  McDowell said. “If a man or woman says well I’m going to give it my best try, I’ll try my best, they won’t make it.”

McDowell said there is not one solution to addiction, but at least six to 10 that need to be pursued.

Dr. Sean McDowell, Josh’s son, also spoke.

Dr. McDowell’s talk on Friday was titled “Sexual Integrity: Greatest Challenge to the Church Ever.”

According to Big Sky World View Forum organizers, more than 500 attended each day on Friday and Saturday.

Josh McDowell will also speak on Sunday at Elevation Church at the 9:30 and 10:30 services.
