Red Cross shelter opens in Hardin as Little Big Horn River floods

BILLINGS – The American Red Cross of Montana opened a shelter in Hardin at the First United Methodist Church at 122 5th St. W. in response to flooding in Big Horn County.

According to a press release from American Red Cross of Montana, Ice jams on the Little Big Horn River caused flooding at Crow Agency.

Several households have been evacuated.  As of 8 p.m. Saturday, ten people checked into the Hardin shelter.

Red Cross shelters offer people a safe place to stay, meals, information and access to other community resources.  No reservations are required, and service animals are welcome.
