BILLINGS – Montana Women’s Run organizers named Kaylee Schuppe the winner of the 2019 Kids’ Run T-shirt design contest Friday afternoon.
This year, Women’s Run organizers looked to the Billings YMCA after-school program to find the artist.
According to a release, Schuppe’s design rose to the top from a pool of about 50.
Run organizers say they chose Schuppe’s design, “because of her use of a Montana background, smiling kids, running, and fun colors.”
Schuppe is a 5th grader at Canyon Creek School. She loves to ski, read the Harry Potter series, and draw.
Schuppe said the scenery in her design was inspired by visits to her grandparents’ house in the Beartooth Mountains.
“I really liked drawing it the most,” Schuppe said.”I’ve been interested for, like, a couple years now, but I never really started to draw till this last year. And so now I draw a lot.”
The Montana Kids’ Race takes place Tuesday May 6 at the Rocky Mountain College soccer field beginning at 6 p.m.
