A 13th Big Horn County resident has died of COVID-19, county officials announced Monday night.

The death was a man above the age of 70 who had been in the hospital, according to a news release from county spokesperson Rhonda Johnson.

In addition, Big Horn added 12 new cases of COVID-19 Monday. Seven were likely contracted through community spread, while the other five had previous contacts with infected people, according to Johnson.

Big Horn now has 464 cumulative cases of COVID-19. The county has 188 active cases and 263 recoveries.

The state of Montana reports 75 COVID-19-related death on its website. It wasn't immediately clear if that number includes the new Big Horn County death.
