The Great American Cleanup in Billings has been suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Organizers with Bright 'n' Beautiful, which sponsors the event, said they hope to reschedule after public-health authorities deem gatherings of large groups are safe.
Last year, more than 1,000 volunteers showed up to clear away litter and debris and improve the look of the community.
Joanie Tooley, executive director of Bright 'n' Beautiful, also recommended against picking up litter in groups out of concerns the coronavirus can survive on surfaces for an extended period of time.
