Montana state health officials reported one additional death and 196 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, according to theMontana Response COVID-19 tracking map.
The additional death was reported in Rosebud County. The state death toll now stands at 123, according to state health officials.
The 196 new cases represent the second highest single day increase. The highest number of cases in a single day was recorded on July 24 with 208.
Yellowstone County reported the highest number of new cases with 75. The county now has a cumulative total of 2,394 cases, and there are now 720 active cases in the county. Yellowstone Countyreported its 50th COVID-19 death on Wednesday.
Rosebud County added 25 new cases Thursday, and Big Horn and Silver Bow each reported 15. Cascade, Glacier, and Missoula counties each added nine new cases.
The remaining new cases were spread across 17 Montana counties.

There are currently 1,808 active cases in Montana, and 163 people are in the hospital for treatment.
The total number of tests has reached 273,353, an increase of 2,203 during the previous 24-hour reporting period.
