Montana state health officials reported one additional death and 429 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, according to the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map.
For the second day in a row the new single day case total set a record high. On Wednesday, the state reported 348 new cases.
The state death toll from the virus now stands at 181. The additional death was reported in Sweet Grass County.
Yellowstone County added the highest number of new cases with 93. The county now has 3,424 total cases, 944 active cases and 68 deaths.
Cascade County reported 67 new cases, and Flathead County reported 66. Missoula County reported 32 new cases, and Richland County added 20.
The remaining new cases were spread across 27 Montana counties.

Montana now has reached a cumulative total of 13,500 COVID-19 cases, and there have been 9,428 recoveries.
There are now 3,891 active cases across the state. Yellowstone County has the highest number of active cases at 944, and Flathead County reports 585 active cases. Cascade County has 357 active cases of the virus, Roosevelt County has 312, Missoula County has 308, and Glacier County has 239.
Active Cases by County
There are currently 178 people hospitalized for treatment of the virus. The total number of completed tests is 348,709, an increase of 5,551 during the previous 24-hour reporting period.
