Montana reports 1 additional death, 66 new COVID-19 cases (Tuesday, Sept. 8)

Montana state health officials reported one additional death and 66 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, according to the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map.

A recent death was reported in Lincoln County. Late Tuesday morning, Yellowstone County health officials reported the 49th COVD-19 death in the county.

The state death toll from COVID-19 now stands at 119, according to state officials.

Rosebud County reported the highest number of new cases Tuesday with 10, followed by Cascade County with seven and five each in Gallatin and Yellowstone counties.

The remaining new cases were reported across 16 Montana counties.

The cumulative total number coronavirus cases in Montana since the pandemic began now stands at 8,381. There have been 6,270 recoveries, and there are now 1,992 active cases across the state.

There are 161 people currently hospitalized for treatment of the virus.

The total number of tests performed has reached 268,780, an increase of 1,655 during the previous 24-hour reporting period.
