Montana health officials reported Wednesday 121 schools with COVID-19 cases, about double the amount reported the previous week.
The report, which included cases counted through Friday, showed 154 students and 42 staff members had tested positive for the virus. Another 170 are categorized as "under investigation."
The report showed 74 cases in elementary schools (57 students, 17 teachers), 37 in middle schools (31 students and 6 teachers) and 85 in high schools (66 students and 19 students).
The total number of cases in universities is 204, but the state report does not indicate the number of students or staff.
In Yellowstone County, 31 schools have cases reported within the last 14 days. Four other schools had cases that were reported more than 14 days ago. Another 45 cases remain under investigation.
