Montana state health officials reported three additional deaths and 149 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, according to the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map.
One of the new deaths was reported in Yellowstone County. Here is the full press release from RiverStone Health:
RiverStone Health, Yellowstone County’s public health department, is reporting another Yellowstone County resident has died due to COVID-19 related illness.
On Monday, August 31, a woman in her 50s passed away at her home.
This recent death is reflected on the Friday, September 4 state COVID-19 tracking map.
To protect the privacy of the deceased and her family, RiverStone Health will not release further information.
“I am deeply saddened by the loss of yet another Yellowstone County resident due to COVID-19 related illness,” said John Felton, Yellowstone County Health Officer and RiverStone Health President and CEO. “This is a difficult time for the deceased’s family and friends and I offer my sincere condolences.”
To date, 2,230 Yellowstone County residents have been infected with COVID-19 and 46 have died.
The other deaths were reported in Flathead County. The state death toll now stands at 114.
Yellowstone County reported the highest number of new cases with 30. The county now has a total of 2,230 cumulative cases and 1,011 active cases.
Deer Lodge County reported 24 new coronavirus cases, and Rosebud County added 16 new cases. Flathead County added 12 new cases, and Cascade and Gallatin counties each added nine new cases. Big Horn County and Lake County each reported eight new cases.
The remaining new cases were spread across sixteen Montana counties.

Active Cases by County
The state now has a cumulative total of 8,009 coronavirus cases since the pandemic began. There have been 5,821 recoveries, and there are now 2,084 active cases statewide.
There are 150 people currently hospitalized for treatment of the virus.
The total number of tests preformed in the state reached 259,988, an increase of 4,328 during the previous 24-hour reporting period.
