Montana state health officials reported five additional COVID-19 deaths and 360 new cases of the virus on Friday, according to theMontana Response COVID-19 tracking map.
The number of new cases is the second highest tallied in the state in a single day since the pandemic began in March. The highest single day count came onThursday when there were 429 new cases reported across the state.
The state death toll now stands at 186. Big Horn County reported one additional death on Thursday evening, bringing the COVID-19 death toll in that county to 24.
Cascade County reported one additional death, and two COVID-19 deaths were reported in Roosevelt County.
Yellowstone County again recorded the highest number of new cases with 69, followed by Gallatin County 63 and Missoula County with 29. Cascade County reported 28 additional cases, and Flathead County added 24. Lewis and Clark County added 22 new cases.
The remaining new cases were reported across 30 Montana counties.

Yellowstone County has bar far the highest number of active cases with 1,013. Flathead County reports 607 active cases, and Cascade County has 384 active cases. Missoula County reports 335 active cases, Granite County has 248, and Gallatin County now has 224 active cases. Roosevelt County reports 209 active cases.
There are a total of 4,100 active cases across the state.

Active Cases by County
The total cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Montana has reached 13,855, with 9,569 recoveries.
There are currently 177 people hospitalized for treatment of the virus. The total number of tests performed is at 353,362, an increase of 4,653 during the previous 24-hour reporting period.
