BILLINGS, MT – RiverStone Health will begin offering free drive-through COVID-19 testing weekday mornings in the parking lot of the Shrine Auditorium parking lot, 1125 Broadwater Avenue. The testing site is scheduled to open the morning of Tuesday, July 14 and then to be open Monday through Friday.
Each day, the first hour of testing, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., is reserved for individuals who have a testing prescription from RiverStone Health. These individuals have been identified through public health as having been exposed to a person who tested positive for COVID-19 while that person was infectious.
Starting at 10 a.m. each day, COVID-19 testing will be offered to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis. The testing site will close at 12:30 p.m. for the day. The number of tests done daily will be limited by staffing capacity.
To access the RiverStone Health testing site, please enter from 11th Street West on the east side of the Shrine property. Traffic will be directed to drive through to the trailer parked near the back of the auditorium. After testing, vehicles will exit onto Yellowstone Avenue on the north side of the Shrine property.
People who are tested will remain in their vehicles.
The test itself will be the same as offered at previous events at MetraPark. A RiverStone Health staff member will instruct the individual how to gently swab inside each nostril and place the swab into a vial for transportation to a lab for analysis.
RiverStone Health will notify everyone who is tested of their confidential test results as soon as they become available. People who are symptomatic at the time of testing will be asked to quarantine for 14 days or until test results are known.
As with everyone who tests positive for COVID-19, RiverStone Health will call and provide instructions for self-isolation to prevent spread of the virus. Also, RiverStone Health will begin contact tracing, interviewing individuals about their close contacts.
