The survey by wallethub.com compared increases in unemployment claims for all 50 states and the District of Columbia using both the latest week (May 4) and overall since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis (March 16).
The survey also found that Idaho was the second least affected state for unemployment claims. Wyoming ranked 38th, while South Dakota came in at number 8 and North Dakota ranked 47th.
Connecticut topped the list, followed by Florida and Louisiana.

"Almost 36.5 million Americans have found themselves temporarily or permanently out of a job since the week of March 16, which translates to a staggering 15.7% unemployment.
