Yellowstone County reported its first COVID-19 death Friday, according to the county's Unified Health Command.
The victim was a man in his 50s who died Friday in a Yellowstone County hospital, RiverStone Health spokeswoman Barbara Schneeman told Q2 Friday afternoon.
This bring the total number of COVID-19-related deaths in Montana to 10. Cascade County also reported its first death Friday.
“This is a tragic loss of life from a truly horrible disease to which none of us have any immunity,” said John Felton, Yellowstone County Health Officer and President/CEO of RiverStone Health in a statement. “On behalf of all of us in the community, I offer my heartfelt condolences to his family.”
Yellowstone County had 67 COVID-19 cases as of Friday morning, according to the Montana Response COVID-19 tracker.
