Man killed in downtown Billings stabbing identified

BILLINGS – The man who was killed in a stabbing incident in downtown Billings has been identified.

Louis Lee Oldbear, 31 of Billings, was found with multiple stab wounds Wednesday night at the downtown Hardee’s drive thru.

Billings police said Oldbear was transported to a where he was later pronounced dead.

In a press release issued Thursday morning,  police Lt. Brandon Wooley said the incident at the Hardee’s parking lot was reported at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Wooley said preliminary information indicates there was a disturbance involving Oldbear and two other men, ages 30 and 35. All three were identified as transients staying in the area.

Wooley said the investigation is ongoing and no arrests had been made. He added that police have “no reason to believe the public is in any danger as a result of no arrests.”
