HELENA – A man with previous burglary convictions in Yellowstone County has been charged in Helena with sexual abuse of children after police reportedly found child pornography on his phone.

According to court documents, on Nov. 30, Sean Anderson Kildare was seen “surreptitiously recording two young girls” at a fast food restaurant in Helena.

The parents of the children confronted him and police officers were called to the scene.

Kildare allowed an officer to look at his phone, and the officer saw “what he knew to be child erotica” and stopped his search. Kildare was then taken to the Law Enforcement Center for a formal interview.

The charging documents state that Kildare told detectives that he had searched for and viewed “child erotica,” but claimed that they would not find any on his phone.

A search warrant for the phone was obtained, and detectives found more than 100 images on the phone depicting child pornography, including girls under the age of six performing oral sex on adult males, and girls under the age of 10 being raped by adult men.

Detectives also found a video of Kildare masturbating to a pair young girl’s panties; detectives located a similar pair of panties in his dresser drawer during a probation search.

Prosecutors requested that bond for Kildare be set at $75,000.

According to the Montana Department of Corrections, Kildare was convicted in 1987 and 2000 in Yellowstone County on two unrelated burglary charges.

He also has multiple felony convictions in Cascade, Custer, and Missoula counties for burglary, bail jumping, and theft.
