BILLINGS- A Lame Deer woman was sentenced Friday to nine months in federal prison for her role in a large-scale meth ring from California to Montana.

Brandy Joy Pretty On Top, 31, pleaded guilty in July 2018 to possession with intent to distribute meth. She was also sentenced to two years of house arrest and five years of supervised release. U.S. District Judge Susan Watters presided.

Pretty On Top was identified as a local dealer on the Northern Cheyenne reservation during a federal investigation launched in 2015, according to U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme.

Federal prosecutors say Pretty On Top got the meth from a supplier in San Jose, Calif., who traveled to Montana.

The case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a U.S. Department of Justice initiative to reduce violent crime.
