Update 2:20 p.m. Billings Police Chief Rich St. John said the officer, Brett Hilde, suffered minor injuries from a scuffle with a suspect.
Hilde fired one round at the suspect, which apparently missed, St. John said at a news conference. Hilde is on paid administrative leave, as per policy for any officer-involved shooting, St. John said.
The suspect remains at large.

BILLINGS - A Billings police officer received minor injuries in a shooting incident early Thursday.
Few details were released, but the incident happened at about 3:30 a.m. at 12th Avenue North and North 22nd Street. Police posted on Twitter at about 6 a.m. that there remains "heavy Police presence in the area" as officers search for a suspect.
