UPDATE: Chavez has returned to the facility.
Alternatives, Inc. and the Montana Department of Corrections issued a statement to notify the public of an offender who walked away from Alpha House in hopes of enlisting assistance in his apprehension.
Brian Chavez,23, walked away from the Alternatives Alpha House Prerelease Center at 1:37 a.m. Sunday morning.
Chavez is 5 feet 8 inches and weighs 200 pounds. He is Caucasian with brown hair and hazel eyes.
He was sentenced for accountability to burglary out of Yellowstone County April 18 and arrived at Alpha House June 20.
The Department of Corrections requests assistance in locating the offender.
He should be considered dangerous as he is facing a ten year sentence for felony escape and as such should not be approached.
Information concerning his whereabouts should be reported to law enforcement immediately.
