BILLINGS — A Hardin man was sentenced in Billings Wednesday to nearly three years in federal prison for punching and strangling a woman on the Crow reservation last year.
James Keith Bellrock, 44, pleaded guilty in August to two counts of assault. He was sentenced to a total of 33 months.
On Jan. 10, 2018, the victim told FBI agents that Bellrock had assaulted her at their residence in St. Xavier, according to federal prosecutors.
She told agents he punched her in the head several times and strangled her until she lost consciousness. Blood samples taken from the residence and coveralls worn by Bellrock matched with the victim.
U.S. District Judge Susan P. Watters presided.
