SUPERIOR — The Mineral County Sheriff’s Office said a juvenile has been arrested for making a threat involving Superior High School.

According to Sheriff Ryan Funke, the threat indicated a school shooting may occur. Based on their investigation and the specific nature of the threat, the Mineral County Sheriff deemed the threat to be credible.

The juvenile suspect was arrested and transported to the Missoula County Juvenile Detention Facility, where he will be held pending charges.

Funke says that out of an abundance of caution, there will be officers at Superior schools to ensure the safety and security of all students and staff.

The schools will operate as usual. Funke said officers will maintain an active presence on campus.
