A Billings man is in jail following a shootout on Billings West End Wednesday afternoon.
Paul Underwood, 26, surrendered peacefully to police following the shooting around 5 p.m. on the 1100 block of Custer Avenue, Billings Police Lt. Brandon Wooley said in a Thursday news release.
Police responded to a call of a shootout between someone inside a residence and an SUV driving by, Wooley said.
Officers arrived and surrounded the residence where a shooter had entered, according to Wooley.
After several minutes of talking with police, Underwood came out and was arrested, Wooley said.
No one else was arrested, and police are continuing to investigate gunshots fired from the SUV, Wooley said.
Underwood is scheduled to make his first court appearance Friday before Judge Jessica Fehr.
He faces four counts of felony criminal endangerment with a weapons enhancement.
