Update 5:15 p.m.: One man is in custody after police said he killed his mother in a south Billings apartment, according to Billings Police Lt. Dave Cardillo.
Cardillo told Q2 News that a patrol officer found the man on foot in the area of the 100 block of Calhoun Lane, where police found the body of the woman.
Cardillo did not identify the man or the victim.
Police responded to the apartment at 2:18 p.m. and found the woman's body.
Cardillo did not say how she died.
Police found a dead body Monday afternoon in a south Billings apartment following an investigation into a disturbance.
Sgt. Bret Becker wrote in a tweet that police were responding to a "disturbance" on Calhoun Lane and found the body of a dead woman in the apartment.
Detectives are on the scene and investigating.
